The Vessel Examiners who perform the VSC's are specially trained Auxiliary personnel who are kept informed of the latest legal requirements for boaters. The Vessel Examiners have no legal authority and do NOT issue citations. Our focus is to help prevent boaters from getting equipment related citations. Vessels that pass the examination are awarded the Seal of Safety to be placed on the vessel.

To Arrange a Vessel Safety Check please contact SO-P John Doogan by E-Mail by clicking here and letting Dale know how to contact you to arrange for the safety check.

The United States Coast Guard Auxiliary is the civilian, uniformed volunteer component of the United States Coast Guard, as well as the lead volunteer force in the Department of Homeland Security. Founded in 1939 by an Act of Congress as the US Coast Guard Reserves and re-designated the Coast Guard Auxiliary in 1941, the 30,000 volunteer members (men and women) donate thousands of hours in support of the Coast Guard and Maritime Domain Awareness missions, such as Search & Rescue, Public Education, Vessel Inspections and Marine Environmental Protection.
